Upload, export and restore Palworld saves

Updated 2026-06-19 · Palworld · Saves · 6 min read

Overview

This tutorial covers how to complete "Upload, export and restore Palworld saves" in the GSS console. The flow is built around visual actions — no command line, and every key step shows its impact and supports rollback.

i
Before you start: Make sure you've created a Palworld server and can open the console. For data-affecting actions, create a backup under Saves first.

Steps

01
Back up first
In Saves, click Manual backup (server must be running).
02
Export a copy
Click Export on a backup to download the .tar.gz and keep it off-site.
03
Upload an old save
Click Upload save and pick a .tar.gz backup; it appears in the backup list.
04
Restore
Click Restore on the target backup and choose restart now or on next restart; a restore point is created automatically first.
05
Verify the world
Join the game after restart and check your progress.
⚠
Note: This action may affect saves or online players. Confirm a backup exists before running; high-risk actions only take effect after a second confirmation.
